Job description

SUMMARY
The Department of Psychology seeks a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology, to join our collegial and collaborative department in Fall 2026.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring, and advising, active scholarship in their field, service to the university and the broader community, and a commitment to the Christian faith. Specialization is open and overall fit with the current faculty areas will be evaluated. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach electives in their area of expertise, as well as contribute with enthusiasm to the department's foundational offerings.

EDUCATION
Applicants should hold a PhD (or PsyD) in psychology by the position start date.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD (or PsyD) in psychology.
  • Record of successful teaching, service, and scholarly activity appropriate to the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for advising and mentoring undergraduates with varied career interests.
  • Collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills, able to work well within the Department of Psychology and our larger School of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and a research agenda that values student involvement and mentoring.
  • Experience in creating successful and interactive online courses in platforms such as Canvas.
  • Expertise incorporating service-learning experiences into course curricula.
POSITION DETAILS
This is a full-time position, with a starting date of August 2026. The teaching load is four courses per semester, with an option for additional summer courses as well as developing and delivering courses in an online format.
