Position:
This position is responsible for routine processing and handling of turkey eggs in the Hatchery. This consist of basic manual labor, organizing, candling eggs, annd cleaning duties. Must be physically fit to handle,push,lift,pull 50Lbs and be able to help. Must have a flexiable schedule, reliable transportation, and be a team player. This position requires working in a cooled environment year round of 60 degrees.

Select Genetics is the leading supplier of poults to growers and companies across the world and has operations in eight US States. The Egg Room Laborer provides support for the process function in the Hatchery. The position reports to and is supervised by the management.
Summary
The Egg Room Laborer is responsible for routine processing of eggs in the Hatchery including, but not limited to: unloading eggs from the pallets, hand-transferring eggs, candling and operating forklift (after company training and certification are successfully completed). Within this process will be the expectation of consistent cleanliness and animal welfare standards being upheld. The Egg Room Laborer carries out all directives in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. All Company information will be handled with complete confidentiality.
Work requires frequent bending, standing, and walking. Work is subject to tight deadlines and interruptions. The work environment includes exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes and varying temperatures. The Egg Room Laborer must be physically able to lift and/or push and handle up to 50 lbs. frequently during the day. The Egg Room Laborer can be asked to train in multiple departments and rotate departments based on Company's needs.
Responsibilities
1. Follow the direction of the Egg Room supervisor.
2. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, business ethics codes, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
3. Follow strict attendance policy.
4. Active listening and customer service orientation skills.
5. Deductive/Inductive reasoning skills.
Requirements
1. Follow the directives of the Egg Room Supervisor.
2. Follow all company regulations pertaining to bio security, animal welfare and safety.
3. Flexible Schedule/availability a plus.
Start Times are between 5am/6am until production is finished.
(Typically between 8-10 hours daily. Monday-Friday.)
4. Experience with live animals or eggs handling preferred.
5. Good with basic math a plus.
6. Must have good hand eye coordination.
7. Willing to learn and be trained.
Additional required skills and abilities include; attention to detail; communication skills including verbal and listening; the ability to read and interpret company policies and procedures, the ability to communicate and interact productively with all employees; the ability to work under pressure; and, the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen is required.
Compensation:
Pay: 18.33 hourly/AG Exempt. After 90 day probation will be $18.71
*This is a agriculture-exempt position. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this role is not eligible for overtime pay. However, we offer plenty of consistent hours, steady full-time work, and a benefits package including:
