Position Summary
Ajinomoto Foods is a leading frozen foods company, committed to providing nutritious and delicious meals globally. We are looking for a Veggie Blend Mixer to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The VBM is responsible for processing frozen vegetables.
Schedules are typically between Monday - Friday. 8 hour shifts, 12:30pm start time.
Starting pay is $18.00/hour + $0.50 shift differential.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the manufacturing processes of different lines. Obtain vegetables, beef, and/or onion and other items from freezers or cooler. Weigh vegetables and various proteins into batches to be mixed or cooked and provided to the lines. Keep various work areas clean and organized as per company Good Housekeeping Procedures.
  • Assist in equipment set up during Start-Up and disassembling of equipment at the end of the production day. Production equipment may consist of Veggie Mixer, Watanabe, and Urshel Slicer. May operate other equipment necessary in support of production needs and demands.
  • May be assigned to various production rooms which may require activities related to the job function of supporting that specific line. May also be assigned as a general laborer supporting a specific production line.
  • Must follow the Verification Process by verifying all ingredients pulled before using.
  • Must be competent and understand all necessary paper work and production flowcharts critical to the manufacturing, mixing and weighing of various items.
  • Must understand and follow all warehouse and logistical Standard Operating Procedures specifically in the areas of "Additional Materials" and "Returns".
  • Maintain good control of ingredients and balance by utilizing FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Must be able to read, analyze and comprehend the production schedule and various production documentation critical to the daily operation of each production line.
  • May be required to become EPJ (Electric Pallet Jack) certified and/or HACCP Monitor certified.

Position Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Basic knowledge of simple math skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English preferred, but not required.
