American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Jasper, Georgia.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment in a Surgical ICU, requiring CCRN and ventilator management skills.

Details
  • Surgical ICU treating critically ill medical/surgical patients including sepsis, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, overdose/withdrawal, post-op care, GI bleeding, end-of-life care, and COVID-19 complications
  • Split unit with 12 total ICU beds, 6 on the 2nd floor and 6 on the 1st floor
  • Higher acuity patients staffed at a 1:2 nurse ratio; lower acuity patients staffed at a 1:3 nurse ratio with PCT support
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CCRN and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula management preferred
  • Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal preferred
  • Experience managing arterial lines preferred
  • Experience with emergency medications and cardiac dysrhythmia management
  • Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management
  • Prior charge experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing to a high-acuity ICU patient population
  • Responsible for infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE compliance
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
