Job description

C-P Flexible Packaging is a successful and fast-growing essential manufacturing company that uses an impressive array of digital pre-press and wide-web flexographic printing capabilities and extrusion and adhesive laminators to produce creative flexible packaging solutions for our customers. With a primary focus on serving the food industry, C-P specializes in roll stock, pouches, re-sealable packaging and shrink sleeves. Our headquarters and main manufacturing facility is located York, PA, with additional operations in Bristol, PA and throughout the US and Canada.

To operate a Solventless Laminator safely, efficiently, productively while producing a quality product in accordance to company and customer specifications.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Operate SAL (solventless-adhesive-laminator)
  • Load and unload printed and non-printed rolls on Laminator with the assistance of lifting carts and hoist.
  • Interpret and understand written information, (Orders, SOP's, print roll tickets, etc.)
  • Secure finished laminated rolls to pallet with wood chucks and straps securely and to SOP instructions. .
  • Operate air powered pumps
  • Safe handling of solvents and adhesives
  • Assemble glue assembly and hoses as needs
  • Able to start up machine from a complete shut down
  • Able to clean machine up and put into a complete shut down
  • Read and interpret manufacturing spec's (M-Spec)
  • Enter accurate information into computer and on production papers for SQF compliant and tracking.
  • Use GT computer system to log production information including printing out and attach accurate labels to finished laminated rolls.
  • Attach proper information to unused raw material
  • Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean
  • Spot and be able to determine visual defects quickly within 10 minutes of running
  • Follow all Safety requirements (i.e. lifting, cutting, clothing, etc.)
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Complete tasks in adequate time limits, as to meet daily goal and schedule needs.
  • Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's.
    • SOP's may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
      • Employee Health and Safety
      • SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
      • SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's
  • Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Special Projects & other duties as necessary

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to use a computer (basic computer skills)
  • Basic math skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Communicate well with others
  • Basic reading skills
  • Basic writing skills (must be legible)
  • Use of minor tools (i.e. allen wrenches)
  • Use of sharp cutting tools
  • Process written information (orders, SOP's, etc.)
  • Common sense and planning ahead

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

  • Lifting ability, up to 50 lbs. consistently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally
