The Machine Operator role is responsible for ensuring the precise mix and development of dough, resulting in top-notch finished products.
In the role you will:
  • Collaborate with the previous mixer operator at the beginning of the shift to discuss the doughs currently being mixed.
  • Scale ingredients one dough at a time using small scoops, accommodating up to 5 lbs. of ingredients per scoop.
  • Load 50 lbs. bags and 60 lbs. buckets of ingredients into the mixer, with assistance load up to 100 lbs. buckets of reclaim dough.
  • Scale ingredients for the next dough according to the dough schedule. Use mixer controls to smoothly transfer the dough into the dough trough.
  • Communicate any issues promptly to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Superintendent and Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Basic literacy skills, able to read and comprehend instructions, signage, warnings, etc.
  • General knowledge of machinery operations. Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to count and perform basic math. Reading and writing proficiency.
  • Capability to keep up with machine speed through repetitive motion. Familiarity with reading and comprehending production schedules.
  • Willing to work irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off) and working holidays and weekends as required.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift, maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials. Ability to use arms, hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools or controls. Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position. Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective clothing for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
