Location: Temecula, CA
Base Pay: $20 - $30 per hour (based on experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Industry: Offset Lithographic Printing / Manufacturing

Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 3+ years Saddle Stitcher experience preferred

Job Summary:

The Bindery Operator is responsible for setting up and operating bindery equipment such as saddle stitchers, cutters, and folders. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assist team members as needed.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and fine-tune machine pockets to minimize drops and stoppages.
  • Adjust and monitor machine calipers to ensure product quality.
  • Set up, adjust, and repair stitcher heads for smooth operation.
  • Change and adjust trimmer knives as required.
  • Inspect and identify machine parts that need replacement.
  • Setup, monitor, and maintain inkjet systems when applicable.
  • Continuously monitor product quality and adjust machines accordingly.
  • Perform general maintenance and lubrication of machines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bindery area.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including PPE usage, ergonomics, and chemical hazard protocols.
  • Maintain accurate production charts and records.
  • Provide guidance to machine crew during production and downtime.
  • Assist supervisors with evaluations and provide feedback as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Frequent reaching, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive hand/wrist movements.
