Job description
Position Summary:
The lab associate will work with our senior staff and leadership to run tests, analyze results and report on data findings.
Job duties:
- Prepare equipment and workspace.
- Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed.
- Assist in collecting data for accreditation.
- Prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor laboratory testing with faculty, including immunohematology, chemistry, hematology, microbiology etc.
- Organize documentation, take notes, record data and results.
- Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Label specimens accurately and distribute them to the students.
- Order, Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies.
- Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens.
- Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens.
- Conduct laboratory tests, analyze, and categorize results.
- Record and document analysis results; report results and variations to supervisor.
- Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies.
- Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace.
- Research industry trends and advancement.
- Assists faculty with additional duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in medical technology.
- MLT or MLS certification.
- Reliable transportation to visit clinical site to pick up specimens.
