Job description

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Construction Materials Laboratory Technician for our Raleigh, NC location. ย This person will perform daily work in the lab, assist project managers, help with scheduling, and perform other duties as needed.ย  Will Train!

This candidate will be providing quality assurance/quality control testing for a variety transportation projects, but any commercial experience is very beneficial. Successful candidates must perform on site observations/inspections, collect samples per FDOT, ACI, and ASTM requirements, perform specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and transportation components, and maintain detail records of observations, inspections, and test results.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct and document tests on various construction materials with precision and attention to detail. While you collaborate with experienced colleagues, you'll also work independently, ensuring test results are logical, complete, and ready for review.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated. Your role will be vital in keeping the lab running efficiently and ensuring the accuracy of our testing processes.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2+ yearsโ€™ construction materials testing experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
  • ACI Concrete Strength Testing, ACI Aggregate Testing Level I and II, NCDOT certifications are desired
  • Ability to lift and/or move 35-100 pounds regularly.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
