Job description

Position Overview

The Lab Support Technician is responsible for assisting with Lab Operations by working collaboratively with other pharmacy technicians to support Lab workflow under the direct supervision of the Lab Manager. This role serves as an entry-level position for new technicians interested in learning lab operations. Certified Lab Support Technicians are prioritized for Compounding Technician positions as they become available.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain Hygiene Standards: Ensure a clean and safe environment by sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, wiping down counters and other surfaces, and taking out trash.
  • Organize Tools and Equipment: Clean, dry, and return tools and equipment to appropriate pods.
  • Manage Laundry: Wash and dry laundry, keeping scrubs and lab coats organized in the locker rooms.
  • Prepare Chemicals: Prep chemicals for use in the lab.
  • Restock Supplies: Restock supplies in all pods and in the dispensary.
  • Organize Storage: Keep the Lab Storage room clean and organized.
  • Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure appropriate stock levels of all lab-related supplies.
  • Receive Orders: Receive and unpack orders from vendors.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all training and SOP guidelines for working with and handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Use PPE: Follow all required PPE garbing and hand hygiene protocols.
  • Assist Technicians: Help Technicians with large batches, prepping workflow, and finishing products if certified.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Tech in Training Registration: Registration from the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • PC Skills: Basic level PC skills experience.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to stand on feet throughout the day and lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail.
