Crna Opportunity At Sarasota Memorial Health Care System

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking CRNAs with great communication and interpersonal skills to join the Anesthesiology team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. This new team is built upon Leadership's long-standing vision to be the BEST place to be a patient, to work and to provide care. CRNAs wanting a wide scope of practice in a supportive team environment of excellence and professional growth are welcomed to apply. Highlights of the opportunity:

  • A full-time CRNA is expected to cover 176 shifts annually, with additional pay for extra shifts.
  • Diverse mix of cases including Cardiac, Endo, General Surgery, Neuro, OB, Oncology, Ortho, Robotics, Spine, Vascular, and Level II Trauma.
  • Staffing model planned is 40+ Anesthesiologists, and 100+ CRNAs covering 70+ sites including Cath Lab, IR, Endo.
  • Average anesthesia volume is 65,000 cases annually.
  • Physicians will have oversight of CRNA's.

  • As an employee of a public, State of Florida organization, CRNAs are entitled to sovereign immunity. No tail coverage is needed should you leave the practice.
  • Sarasota Memorial and First Physicians Group are not for-profit organizations. CRNAs can participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program if employed by First Physicians Group.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Anesthesia (DNP or DNAP) accredited by AANA.
  • APRN state of Florida licensure, active and in good standing.
  • NBCRNA certification
  • Active BLS/PALS/ACLS certification from American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public. Prefer ability to to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Prefer demonstrated clinical competency in administration of anesthesia, patient assessment skills, and documentation.
  • Prefer ability to remain calm under pressure and during crisis situations. Prefer demonstrated healthy coping mechanisms to combat stress, as well as emotional and physical fatigue.
  • Prefer demonstrated strong attention to detail to ensure dosage and administration of correct anesthetics to patients.
  • Prefer demonstrated adherence to professional standards of care and institutional standards, and compliance with quality measures.
  • Prefer demonstrated respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Prefer knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives; emergency protocols and guidelines; health care administration systems, governmental regulations and compliance requirements; and current computer systems and applications.

Required License and Certs:

  • CRNA: Cert Reg Nurse Anesthetist
  • FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS: Basic Life Support
