Schedule: Full-Time, Days (Tuesday-Friday + rotating Saturday every 12 weeks)

About the Opportunity
Star Nursing is seeking an experienced Lab Supervisor - Hematology to support a high-volume laboratory setting in Central Florida.
This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing hematology operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, and maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Position Summary
The Lab Supervisor - Hematology provides oversight of laboratory operations, including specimen processing, testing workflows, and result reporting. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks while supporting daily team performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
  • Oversee hematology lab workflow from specimen receipt through result reporting
  • Monitor testing processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround times
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and service requirements
Team Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to laboratory staff
  • Support performance management, training, and development
  • Promote accountability and adherence to policies and procedures
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • State and federal regulations
    • Laboratory certification standards
    • Internal quality and safety protocols
Process Improvement
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field
  • Active Florida Supervisor License in Hematology
  • ASCP or AMT certification required
  • Minimum 6+ years laboratory experience (including hematology)
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience in high-volume laboratory environments
  • Proven ability to manage workflow and team performance
  • Strong attention to detail and regulatory knowledge
