The primary responsibilities of the Lab Assistant are: to be responsible for providing administrative support (such as intake, Quality Assurance, communication, and charge entry), for the pathology lab.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Intake and processing of specimens.
  • Input data into Electronic Medical Records Nextech.
  • Log incoming slides and prepares slides for physician.
  • Log Pathology Reports, accession and pull charts for physician review.
  • File slides and blocks.
  • Compliance to safety regulations.
  • Review all slides and documentation to ensure information is accurate
  • May assist with maintenance of Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes
  • May assist with ordering laboratory supplies and appropriately store supplies.
  • May assist with maintenance of current policies and procedures for all lab functions.
  • May assist with the overall responsibility for maintenance and storage of all lab records and patient slides, according to law.
  • Input of diagnosis codes to prepare for finalizing reports for pathologists.
  • Any other duties as required to ensure Qualderm Dermatology operations are successful.

Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years experience in lab or medical office setting required
  • Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
  • Associates Degree required
