Job description

Although officially established in 2008, Probst Group has been providing customized solutions to meet our clients' unique needs for over 30 years. We take pride in our extensive experience in industrial wastewater engineering and operations.
The Probst Group is excited to announce a new opportunity within our Technical Services Team. As a Wastewater Operations Specialist on the Technical Services team, you will support industrial wastewater treatment projects with the Probst Group. Key responsibilities include evaluating and troubleshooting wastewater systems, commissioning and start-up of process equipment, providing lab support, analyzing data, creating documentation, and delivering training to staff and customers. Your expertise and hands-on approach will drive improvements and uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in Probst's proven wastewater treatment solutions.
Key Responsibilities for the Wastewater Operations Specialist:
  • Travel to various Probst Group locations and client facilities (approximately 50% travel)
  • Work with project sites to maintain healthy wastewater treatment systems that maintain compliance with wastewater permits
  • Work with internal and external resources to complete project scopes on time and on budget
  • Review and provide comment on WWTP Process Operation Data
  • Diagnose operating problems and perform necessary corrective actions
  • Independently visit WWTPs to provide necessary assistance
  • Provide relief operator support
  • Create and manage client operations logs
  • Perform bench testing of wastewater samples
  • Generate SOPs, startup plans, preventive maintenance & lubrication lists
  • Provide on-site training to operators at client sites
  • Contact vendors for quotes for equipment or services
  • Create internal purchase requests
  • Conduct pilot studies, as needed
  • Provides onsite support at client sites in emergency situations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Based out of the Hartland, WI location
  • Completion of an Associate or higher degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to travel to customer sites an estimated 50% of the time
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of chemical, biological, and environmental science
  • Ability to read P&IDs, controls narratives, and O&M manuals

Preferred experience for the Wastewater Operations Specialist:
  • Able to travel for emergency situations with less than 24 hour notice
  • 3+ years of business travel experience
  • 3+ years in wastewater operations, or commissioning & start-up of wastewater equipment
  • 3+ years of developing technical documentation, reports, and spreadsheets
