The Medical Assistant (MA) Coordinator plays a key in aligning MA work to meet organizational needs. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who is passionate about health care and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • MA Coordinator Assistant
  • Site Senior Medical Assistants
  • Clinical Supervision of Site Medical Assistants


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fosters a culture of high-trust and collaboration with an orientation towards growth on the MA team
  • Supervises and coordinates the work of the MA team at all locations to ensure consistent, safe and high-quality care is provided across the entire organization
  • Manages MA calendars including MA coverage schedules, MA tasks calendars etc.
  • Coordinates cross-site- and site-specific MA meeting agenda in collaboration with direct supervisor and Site Senior MAs
  • Develops, monitors and tracks various activities related to departmental procedures to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality patient care
  • Coordinates with VP of IT and Infrastructure to learn and educate about system updates
  • Holds primary responsibility of ordering all medical supplies in collaboration with MA Coordinator Assistant
  • Facilitates job specific training including but not limited to:
  • New MA orientation
  • Ongoing education
  • Relevant role-specific trainings
  • AI retinal machine training
  • Maintains and ensures compliance of the MA manual and expectations document in coordination with other organizational leaders
  • Oversees lab operations, including but not limited to procurement, equipment maintenance, quality controls and compliance in collaboration with Site Directors
  • Collaborates closely with other organization leaders to ensure the provision of safe, quality, consistent and efficient patient care ensuring clinical decisions are approved by direct supervisor and Director of Medical Services before implementation
  • Coordinates with HR team and direct supervisor in the hiring, departure, and onboarding of MA staff and students
  • Utilizes EMR in patient care
  • Utilizes multiple resources for staff communication accurately and efficiently
  • Acts as the Primary Vaccine Coordinator
  • Responsible for Datalogger maintenance in collaboration with other organizational leaders
  • Runs and follows up on reports such as rooming times, in-basket workload, and Test Not Performed, in collaboration with direct supervisor and other organizational leaders.
  • Collaborates with others to address risk incident reports as assigned by site Directors and/or other organizational leaders
  • Other duties that support our shared work, as assigned

Requirements:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluently bilingual: English/Spanish; oral and written preferred
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills


Education and Experience:

  • Nursing Experience required
  • Supervisory experience of at least 2 years
  • Motivational Interviewing training preferred
  • Trauma Informed Care training preferred


Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to perform considerable time sitting and reaching.
  • Occasional travel between health center sites
  • Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
