Overview
The Lab Assistant will collect and handle a variety of patient specimens from individuals of all ages with professionalism, compassion, and attention to patient comfort. Phlebotomy certification and/or relevant patient care experience is preferred. The Lab Assistant will also process specimens, ensuring they are properly prepared for testing, pickup, transport, or shipment. Clinic hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in collecting samples, checking in patients, and other phlebotomy area duties. This duty is performed as needed
  • Take telephone messages and responds appropriately. Deliver, telephone, or fax reports. This duty is performed daily.
  • Process and prepare samples for Home Health, shipping, add-ons, and storage. This duty is performed daily.
  • Scan and maintain files of appropriate laboratory documents. This duty is performed daily.
  • Be proficient in working with appropriate computer applications. This duty is performed daily.

Qualifications:
  • Current phlebotomy certification is desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
