This position assumes responsibility and accountability for efficiency including patient throughput, staff performance and all components affective cath lab flow and capacity. The Cath Lab Manager is responsible for Cath Lab utilization, first case starts, room turnover, patient safety, policy and procedure adherence, quality and performance improvement measures and risk management.Essential Job Functions:1. Develops schedules and daily team member assignments and responsibilities.2. Collaborates with Cardiac Cath Supervisor and Lead Tech in the daily operations of the catheterization lab.3. Supervises efficient patient flow from CDAR, Cardiac Cath Lab recovery room and cardiac catheterizations patient procedural areas.4. Effectively and efficiently identifies shift problems; investigates and responds appropriately to all situations.5. Develop and maintain processes to support Cath Lab utilization.6. To improve the efficiency of procedural process and patient flow.7. Monitors Standards of Practice to ensure compliance with codes of internal and external regulatory and accrediting agencies including: a. Joint Commissionb. NJS and Federal Codes (ie DOH, OSHA)c. Other Regulatory Agencies8. Ensures Adherence to legal requirements related to:a. Risk Managementb. Patient Bill of Rightsc. Other Regulatory Agencies9. Creates and monitors unit based indicators as mandated or as necessary, integrating functions of standards development, continuing education, credentialing, performance appraisal, concurrent monitoring, utilization review, risk management, and active problem identification.10.
