Requirement/Must Have:

  • Ideal candidate has an Associate or Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, preferably with industry-related experience or equivalent amount of relevant education and experience.
  • Plant transformation experience in a classroom or industry setting is highly desirable.
  • Problem-solving skills are required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks are required.
  • Ability to work well with teams, as well as the ability to work independently, is required.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented person with excellent work ethics and time management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with creating, executing, and scoring results supporting research team needs, including but not limited to: processing samples under sterile lab conditions, measuring, imaging, and analyzing experimental results, coordinating sampling and preparing of samples as needed.
  • Execute plant tissue culture work including aspects of plant transformation, plant propagation, and conduct analytical assays of plant tissue samples as needed.
  • Work in and maintain a safe work environment; includes using aseptic, sterile techniques.
  • Document experimental details with ability to analyze data and interpret results.
  • Recording pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications.
