Laboratory Technician
City: West Lafayette
Job Description:
Job Summary
The Attention, Affect, and Aging (AAA) Lab at Purdue University (PI: Andy Jeesu Kim) is seeking a full-time laboratory technician to support laboratory operations. In the Attention, Affect, and Aging (AAA) Lab, you'll support research that advances our understanding of attention, emotion, and aging while helping create meaningful insights that can improve lives across the lifespan.
As a Laboratory Technician, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact through hands-on research, collaboration with faculty and students, and engagement with diverse research participants. Whether coordinating study operations, managing behavioral and EEG data, or contributing to data collection, your work will play an important role in advancing discovery and supporting the next generation of researchers.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Day-to-day lab operations including recruitment and scheduling, management of behavioral and EEG data, and in-person data collection.
  • Assist the lab director with volunteer training.
  • Opportunities for mentored, independent research are available, if desired.

What We're Looking For:
Required:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Gerontology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive laboratory environment.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism as a collegial team member.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and train others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in-person on Purdue's main campus in West Lafayette, IN.
