Job description

Job Profile Summary
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining clinical and lab compliance for programmatic, regulatory, and accreditation standards; coordinating student and faculty clinical and lab compliance requirements; representing the College to clinical and community affiliates; Supporting Broward College's compliance with clinical contracts on behalf of clinical partners hosting our students, in accordance with federal, state, and accrediting requirements. Works closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance standards are met. Maintains affiliation agreements. Organizes and oversees scheduling of rotations. The position requires the ability to make independent decisions and perform complex analyses.
Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:
  • Six years of clinical, lab, or teaching experience in the Health Science field with excellent oral and written communication skills. Successful candidate will demonstrate progressive responsibilities including experience in managing high volume work streams and possess working knowledge of clinical structure and management.

Minimum Certification/Licenses:
  • Must possess at a minimum CPR certification by the American Heart Association. A current Health related certification and/or license recognized at either the state or national level with no history of suspension or having any action taken against that license

Essential Functions:
  • Daily - 20%: Coordinates, collects, manages, and evaluates appropriate documentation related to clinical and lab education including but not limited to health and physical screenings, releases, immunizations, BLS certifications, background and drug screening, regulatory compliance, and compliance with affiliating healthcare agency requirements.
  • Daily - 10%: Manages and administers wide range of staff and/or operational support activities for the unit.
  • Daily - 10%: Coordinates, updates and submits accurate student records upon the request of the Associate Dean
  • Daily - 10%: Provides academic information and guidance of programs to current and prospective students. Offers advisement to all current students regarding continuing enrollment in the program.
  • Daily - 10%: Participates and assists in academic planning and scheduling.
  • Daily - 5%: Manages relationships with existing partners to ensure student and clinical site satisfaction.
  • Daily - 5%: Maintains complete knowledge and understanding of Broward College's Health Science curricula and programs and clearly explains to clinical and community partners and prospective students.
  • Other - 5%: Attends healthcare related events such as scheduling and clinical coordination meetings.
  • Other - 5%: Responds to inquiries requiring a general understanding of work-area policies and procedures. Ensures inquiries are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Other - 5%: Manages and maintains Health Science data management systems, as required.
  • Other - 5%: Teaches specific clinical education as assigned by the Program Manager in conjunction with the Associate Dean.
  • Other - 5%: Manages general operation of clinical site and lab facility including its distance learning equipment, its cleanliness, safety, and regular maintenance requirements such as equipment calibration.
  • Other -5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
