Pay Range: $19.00-22.00 per hour based on experience

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Review procedures, perform routine quality checks, and ensure that each site adheres to organizational standards and policies. Provide feedback and address any procedural inconsistencies to support the quality of lab operations.
  • Verify patient identification before any procedures, ensuring accurate entry of billing information and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures, including but not limited to:
  • Venipuncture and Capillary punctures
  • Perform Stat Draws with efficiency and accuracy
  • Handle specimen collection with accuracy and care, adhering to established best practices.
  • Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure sample quality and patient comfort.
  • Collect other specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to:
  • Drug screens,
  • Biometric screening
  • Insurance exams.
  • Prepare specimens as per test requirements including but not limited to:
  • Labeling
  • Centrifuging
  • Aliquoting
  • Freezing
  • Preparing samples for transport
  • Follow specific test requirements carefully to ensure sample integrity and accurate processing for analysis.
  • Collect payments as required, maintaining professionalism and following corporate policies for payment processing.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols meticulously per each healthcare facility visited to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment. This includes compliance with, but not limited to:
  • Infection control standards.
  • Proper handling and disposal of biohazard materials.
  • Adherence to lab safety guidelines.
  • Assist in compiling and submitting data and statistics as required by management.
  • Maintain all necessary phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs, by completing entries promptly and according to their designated frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Uphold strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information, including patient data and proprietary information, in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and accurately logging hours worked through company HRIS portal
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Supports ongoing changes in a professional manner, contribute to a positive work environment and to the team effort of the laboratory.

Requirements
Minimum Educational Requirements
Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Phlebotomy Certification required.
Minimum Experience Required
One year of experience in phlebotomy, preferably working in a laboratory or hospital environment.
Skills Required
Knowledge and Proficiency of Phlebotomy Techniques, Laboratory Science Competence, Lab Compliance Adherence, Lab Safety Awareness, Record-Keeping and Documentation
Professional Certifications or Licenses
Phlebotomy Certification. HIPAA.
