We are currently recruiting for a Medical Lab Technologist at our Physician Owned Lab in Carmel, Indiana.
Hours : Monday - Friday 7AM-3:30PM
Axia's full service, state-of-the-art laboratory performs anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and molecular (DNA-based) testing. The Medical Lab Technologist performs comprehensive analysis and laboratory testing, helping Axia to provide full scope of services to Axia Women's Health patients.
Essential Functions
  • Performs various hematologic, immunologic, and chemical analyses as assigned accounting to established standards of quality control
  • Operates, calibrates, and maintains all instrumentation and equipment within scope of practice and relative to area
  • Documents all required quality control, quality improvement, and preventative maintenance
  • Prepares solutions and reagents to be used in laboratory testing
  • Recognizes problems and deviations from normal, independently identifies their causes, processes solutions or alternative courses of actions, assists in resolution, and documents corrective action per protocol
  • Evaluates the validity of laboratory data according to the principle of accuracy, precision, methodology, and physiology
  • Records and reports results accurately utilizing reporting mechanism, manual, laboratory information system, phone and/or fax
  • Utilizes and maintains equipment and supplies to maximize efficiency and cost control
  • Contributes to a positive work environment by functioning as an active team member
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in handling all customer interactions
  • Performs all other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations as may be required
