Utz Quality Foods is growing and looking for a detail-oriented, career-driven Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at our Hanover, PA manufacturing facility. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and have a passion for food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, this could be a great opportunity for you.

In this role, you'll help ensure the quality and safety of our products through product testing, inspections, documentation, and collaboration with production teams. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, lab testing, or food safety programs.

Shift:Monday-Thursday 5:30 PM - 5:30 AM

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and finished product quality inspections and testing
  • Collect product samples and conduct physical and sensory evaluations
  • Record and track QA data using Excel, RedZone, and other computer-based systems
  • Support Environmental Monitoring Programs through sampling and documentation
  • Assist with special testing and sample collection for Research & Development
  • Monitor product quality specifications and ensure compliance with food safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records of raw materials, lot tracking, and supplier information
  • Help maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Partner with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other departments to support food safety and product quality
  • Promote GMP, OSHA, and food safety compliance throughout the facility
  • Support a team-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Food Manufacturing, Lab Testing, or a related field preferred
  • Basic understanding of quality control processes and food safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing schedules and procedures
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing and laboratory environment
  • Basic computer skills including Excel and data entry
  • Experience with RedZone, ERP systems, or quality tracking systems is a plus
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Mechanical aptitude or troubleshooting experience is helpful
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
