Job description

Job Title: Cath-Lab Nurse
Location: Anchorage, AK
Job Summary:
As a highly-skilled and compassionate Cath-Lab Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in our client's healthcare team, providing assistance in invasive cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical competence, sound nursing judgment, effective teaching skills, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and oversee all testing and therapeutics within the Cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural heart procedures (e.g., LAAC, TAVR).
  • Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff, ensuring an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Utilize appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
  • Assist patients throughout procedures, managing tasks such as transport, site preparation, sterile procedures, patient monitoring, hemostasis post-catheter/sheath removal, and facilitating the return to the patient's room. Handle emergent cases.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to function well under stressful situations.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide orientation as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Current nursing license in good standing.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of Cath Lab experience. Emergency Room/ICU experience is advantageous.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
Additional Requirements:
  • Shift times: 7a - 7:30p (12 hr shifts).
  • Must have experience - RN and AK lic required.
  • 3 years of experience in Cath Lab or 5 years in a high acuity setting (e.g., ICU).
  • Experience in circulating, monitoring, and administering sedation medication, including the mixing of sedation drips.
  • No mapping experience needed (performed by a third-party company).
  • Unit Beds/Rooms: 3 rooms, average 4-6 procedures per day.

Pay Range: $38.79 - $56.74 per hour
