Overview

The Registered Medical Assistant position is under the supervision physician. The RMA to the Physician is responsible for providing direct or indirect care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic Medical Assistant principals, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physician's practice.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams, revising daily schedules; obtaining charts and charge tickets, locating lab tests and X-ray reports
  • Ensure that patient chart/EMR entries are made accurately and in a timely manner
  • Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patient; document appropriately
  • Notify outside facilities or personnel of physician's orders

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Registered Medical Assistant Certification
  • 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
  • EMR Experience, preferred
  • Prior Urgent Care experience, preferred
