Job description

Responsible for phlebotomy procedures to include bleeding time test, blood cultures, obtaining blood samples from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; performing glucose testing at the bedside; and performing waived or moderate complexity Point of Care testing at the bedside for patients in the Emergency Department. Also assists in clerical duties of the department; including patient registration, specimen processing, and quality assurance documentation as needed.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an approved phlebotomy course.
Current BLS certification.
Experience:
Previous laboratory experience (in a hospital setting preferred).
