Job description

The Lab Assistant will assist in performing various screening procedures, data entry, specimen collection, greeting customers, handling insurance information, answering the phone, filing, shredding, shipping and receiving packages. This position requires patience, empathy, time management, and professionalism with patients, co-workers, and providers.

Job Responsibilities

· Proper handling of medical records and test results

· Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

· Participate in routine laboratory tasks and other duties as assigned

· Review and maintain the Temperature Logs for each site.

· Routine daily Cleaning of instruments, seats and countertops

· Shipping and receiving packages and samples

· Data Entry

· Filing

· Answering the phone

· Other tasks as needed

Education & Experience

· HS Diploma

· Knowledge of MS Office

· 6 months-2 years’ work experience in a CLIA-accredited clinical laboratory preferred
