Lab Assistant
Department: Production
Location: Centennial, CO 80112
Compensation: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour, DOE
Job Summary
Are you someone who naturally takes initiative, stays organized, and enjoys helping things run smoothly? At VPI Compounding Pharmacy, we are looking for a Lab Assistant to support production operations, training coordination, and qualification tracking.
This role is a great fit for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in working in a lab environment. The right person may have experience in production, operations, science, chemistry, training, coordination, or simply be someone who is organized, eager to learn, and ready to help support a growing department.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily production activities to help maintain organization, efficiency, and department flow.
  • Help keep production priorities, training timelines, and follow-up items organized and moving forward.
  • Coordinate training schedules within Production and help ensure required training is completed on time.
  • Track training progress, qualifications, retraining needs, and employee-specific training plans.
  • Help identify training gaps and communicate follow-up needs to Production leadership and Quality.
  • Ensure completed training forms, qualification documents, and sign-offs are properly completed and maintained.
  • Organize and maintain training records so they are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Team to ensure training documentation is current, properly stored, and available for audits or inspections.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving training materials, checklists, assessments, and related documentation.
  • Support customized training plans for employees returning from leave, needing retraining, or working toward additional qualifications.
  • Work closely with Production Supervisors, Quality, and HR to support onboarding, employee development, training progress, and department needs.
  • Provide input on training progress, competency, attitude, and performance from a training and operational support perspective.
  • Assist with problem-solving, process improvement, and cross-department coordination as needed.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience in a lab, production, operations, training, quality, coordination, or related role preferred.
  • Background in chemistry, biology, science, pharmacy, business, operations, or process coordination is a plus.
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to track details, monitor progress, and identify gaps or areas needing follow-up.
  • Comfortable working with documentation, training records, checklists, and internal systems.
  • Ability to work well with multiple departments and communicate clearly with leadership and team members.
  • Motivated, reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Science, Business, Operations, Management, or a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Must meet all cleanroom hygiene, gowning, and entry requirements.
  • Must be comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
