Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 7am-3:30pm, Onsite, Mesa, AZ
The Sr. Lab Analyst runs, monitors, troubleshoots instrumentation, reporting results and holds responsibility of statistical analysis. A Sr. Analyst will demonstrate basic competency levels including ability to run an instrument and distinguish the results to be aligned with historical expectation.
Progression Statement:
Sr. Lab Analyst must show and surpass the duties and responsibilities of Laboratory Analyst. Potential to progress to Lab Technical Lead I/II/III, Lab Team Lead, QA Data Analyst I/II, QC Process Control Specialist (PCS), QC Technical Lead.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
  • Maintain laboratory environment in a clean and organized manner following strict laboratory chemical hygiene standards (following Lean 5S methodology) including emptying of trash, sweeping & mopping floors and cleaning of glassware.
  • Follow established safety protocols.
  • When assigned, "acting Team Lead" and/or shift operations responsibilities for lab operation except for personnel related issues / items. In such case, first level of single-point-of-contact for production and escalations.
  • Work with Lab Technical Lead & Technical Lab Trainer, with guidance of the Lead on how to run samples pertaining to method and tool qualification, and new product development.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot final product data through SPC charts and IRIS reports.
  • Operate instrumentation, follow SOP and RFC, and can perform expert level troubleshooting.
  • Develop and revise SOPs.
  • Participate in the development of training records for new and current laboratory staff.
  • Create and review instrumental SPC and KPI charts on an expert level.
  • Perform data entry and accurate recording of laboratory data and records following established instructions and procedures.
  • Review and analyzed results against quality specifications and limit, distinguished results, if not aligned troubleshoots instrumentation, prep, and chemistry.
  • Prepare laboratory instrumentation, solutions, reagents, eluents, and standards in a timely manner and according to department procedure and quality standards.
  • Prepare and analyze calibrations and perform reprocessing if necessary.
  • Guide staff with instrumentation and products.
  • Maintain a willingness to follow guidance and training from certified lab staff.
  • Handle and dispose of laboratory waste following all safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure effective laboratory operations.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and "MLI Code of Conduct."
  • Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
  • Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. It is the employee's commitment to ensure that the Company's actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Bachelor of Science, non-technical Bachelor degree (non-science) or equivalent
  • > 12 months lab specific experience + Bachelor of Science degree OR >24 months lab experience + Bachelor degree (non-science) OR > 48 months lab experience + AA degree OR >72 months lab experience + no degree.
  • Ability to read, understand apply information in Safety Data Sheets to ensure safe handling and use of chemicals and laboratory apparatus.
  • Computer literacy including ability to use software with working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is expected to accomplish the critical mission of the department and organization.
  • Perform necessary tasks and work hours needed to accomplish department and company goals.
  • Work as a productive member of a cohesive group toward a common goal and contribute to team development and effective team dynamics.
  • Ability to plan, organize and carry out assignments as instructed and with attention to detail and accuracy and in a timely manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are generally performed indoors in an office/lab and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc. The employee may work in the presence of fumes or airborne particles, hot, toxic, or corrosive chemicals, water, liquids, and electrical equipment. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: respirator, hardhat, protective clothing, safety glasses, safety footwear, and full leather shoes, etc.
