Position Overview

We are seeking a Chemical Data Analyst to support government programs focused on chemical analysis, computational chemistry, and threat assessment. In this role, you will analyze chemical compounds, manage chemical structure data, and apply computational chemistry techniques to evaluate chemical hazards and support mission-critical decision-making.

Working alongside scientists, analysts, and researchers, you will leverage data analysis, chemical modeling, and computational tools to provide technical insights for defense and government customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process, curate, and analyze chemical structure data and compound libraries to support chemical hazard characterization.
  • Utilize computational chemistry and mass spectrometry toolkits to model chemical properties, conduct similarity searches, and perform activity analyses.
  • Maintain, organize, and query chemical structure databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Develop automated workflows for chemical data processing using Python, R, or related scripting languages.
  • Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and briefings summarizing analytical findings for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams to evaluate chemical data against customer requirements and mission objectives.
  • Maintain quality standards for chemical datasets and analytical workflows.
  • Support continuous improvement of computational chemistry processes and data management practices.
Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in:
    • Computational Chemistry
    • Chemistry
    • Chemical Informatics
    • Or a related physical science or quantitative discipline
Experience
  • Two (2) or more years of professional experience working with chemical software, computational chemistry tools, or chemical structure databases.
Technical Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar scripting languages for chemical data processing and automation.
  • Experience using computational chemistry software, chemistry toolkits, or mass spectrometry analysis tools.
  • Understanding of chemical structure databases, compound libraries, and chemical data formats.
  • Strong analytical, data management, and technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal government, defense, or national security programs.
  • Familiarity with computational modeling and cheminformatics workflows.
  • Experience working with large scientific datasets.
  • Knowledge of chemical hazard assessment methodologies.
