JOB SUMMARY

The Equipment/Trucking Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a wide range of construction and maintenance equipment to support material handling and job-site operations. Equipment includes tool cats, loaders, 325-barrel vacuum trailers, 100-barrel vac trucks, diesel tankers, winch trucks, bed trucks, flatbed trailers, super suckers, boom trucks, pickup trucks, tractors, and other light-duty machinery. The Equipment Operator may be assigned to work in either the Alpine or Kuparuk oil fields as operational needs require.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Review job specifications to determine equipment requirements for assigned work.

• Operate construction and maintenance equipment such as tool cats, loaders, 325 barrel vacuum trailer and 100 barrel vacuum Trucks, diesel tankers, winch truck, bed truck, flatbed trailer, super sucker, boom truck, pick up, trucks, tractor,  and other light duty equipment to facilitate material handling to the jobsite.

• Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and equipment maintenance schedules.

• Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions.

• Inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs.

• Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

• Clean, store, and maintain equipment as required.

• Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

• Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

• Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class A CDL with both Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is required.

• A current DOT Medical Card is required.

• A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.

• The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation is required.

• At least five (5) years of experience as an Equipment Operator is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Five (5) or more years of experience working as an Equipment Operator specifically in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards. Candidates must be able to comply with the ASRC Energy Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy, successfully pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both urinalysis and hair testing, and meet the physical requirements of working in a remote location under arctic conditions. In addition, candidates will be required to pass a Fit-for-Duty Exam, complete a background check, and obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
