Job description

KUKA Robot Programmer

We are seeking an experienced KUKA Robot Programmer to support the programming, setup, optimization, and troubleshooting of industrial robotic systems in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong hands-on experience with KUKA robotics, KRL programming, robotic automation, process improvement, and production support. The ideal candidate will be able to develop and modify robot programs, support commissioning activities, improve cycle times, and ensure safe, efficient robotic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Program, edit, and troubleshoot KUKA industrial robots using KUKA Robot Language KRL.
  • Perform robot path teaching, point adjustments, motion optimization, and program validation.
  • Support robotic automation systems used in manufacturing, welding, material handling, machine tending, assembly, or related applications.
  • Assist with robot cell startup, commissioning, debugging, and production launch activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to robot motion, I/O signals, safety circuits, tooling, fixtures, and peripheral equipment.
  • Optimize robotic programs to improve cycle time, quality, repeatability, and production efficiency.
  • Work with PLC, HMI, vision systems, sensors, and automation equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, robot layouts, and automation documentation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of robot programs, backups, changes, and process improvements.
  • Follow all required robot safety, lockout/tagout, and manufacturing safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality teams to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a KUKA Robot Programmer, Robot Technician, Automation Technician, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting KUKA robots in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of KRL programming, robot teaching, coordinate systems, tool frames, base frames, and motion commands.
  • Experience with robot cell commissioning, startup support, debugging, and production troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robot alarms, communication issues, I/O problems, and automation system faults.
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, sensors, safety systems, and robotic end-of-arm tooling.
  • Ability to read electrical prints, mechanical layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional manufacturing team.
  • Prior experience with robotic welding, material handling, CNC machine tending, palletizing, or assembly automation is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with KUKA WorkVisual, robot backups, configuration, and system setup.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, robotic programming, preventive maintenance, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other PLC platforms.
  • Experience supporting high-volume production environments.
  • Understanding of safety standards related to robotic systems and automated equipment
