Location Description
Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. Located in the Excelsior Crossing building where employees are provided with beautifully landscaped walking paths and water features creating an optimal environment for outdoor and walking meetings, along with the opportunity to take a relaxing walk or outdoor lunch before, within, or after your work day.
Responsibilities
This role is fully remote and only considering candidates who reside in MN, IA, and NE.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the administration of the company's time and attendance (KRONOS) and HRIS/payroll systems. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related internal service, including recordkeeping and reporting at multiple sites. This position is also responsible for reporting and auditing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enters and maintains all employee data in UltiPro and Kronos, including but not limited to, new hire entry, terminations, and changes such as position, salary, address, supervisor, or location changes.
• Monitors and prints completed MiSource forms from Payroll inbox.
• Houses the Pay Cards and related process.
• Monitors Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Personal Time (PPT) and Floating Holiday (FH) balances for all employees by running biweekly audit and balance reports.
• Retrieves all PPT for Salaried employees from MiSource and enters it on the payroll Exceptions Spreadsheet.
• Enters Time Off Requests for Administrative and Hourly employees in Kronos.
• Interacts with various department supervisors or managers to obtain missing documentation/information.
• Prepares biweekly payroll files and sends to Post Payroll for processing.
• Runs biweekly audits to ensure accurate entry in both Kronos and UltiPro.
• Prepares reports for supervisors and/or management as needed.
• Assists with hosting/leading the monthly MFI Payroll conference calls.
• Assists in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.
• Ensures procedures (SOPs) are current for payroll related processes.
• Conducts Kronos and Ulti training for HR/Payroll employees. (may require travel)
• Conducts Kronos training for Supervisors/Managers at various locations. (may require travel)
• Monitors SOX regulated items (rate audits) for all MFI payrolls.
• Runs Safety Hours report monthly if applicable.
• Maintains payroll documents as per retention guidelines.
• Completes employment verifications in line with MFI guidelines.
• Completes Unemployment Claim paperwork.
• Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to
all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP's, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
• Able to work overtime and holidays when needed.
• Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.
• Performs other payroll or HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with computer applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook and payroll/HRIS related software.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Previous payroll, HR, and/or accounting experience.
• Ability to process payroll for multiple locations throughout Michael Foods.
The pay range for this position is $23.31 to $31.70 per hour.
