Position Qualifications
Successful candidates for a Class 2 Mechanic in our Shop should have 5 plus years of experience in the heavy equipment repair industry, including but not limited to:
  • Diagnostic and repair experience with heavy equipment (construction, mining, material handling, paving, milling, etc.)
  • Ability to participate in major repair, rebuild, or replace engines and other major components
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, etc. systems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft products as well as industry software
  • Ability to read and write the English language
  • Ability to convey repair details in clear and accurate service notes for assigned work orders
  • Operation of heavy equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment
As a mechanic or technician with Komatsu East, the physically demanding work is performed in industrial environments and includes exposure to significant environmental conditions, including but not limited to:
    • Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
    • Working at heights
    • Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, bending, and crouching
    • Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds
    • Hand/eye and motor coordination
    • Work overtime as needed
    • The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold, odors, hazards, and atmospheric exposures
