Position: Operations/Facility Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Chicago
Compensation: $55,000 - 70,000 annual salary (depending on experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for members, guests and co-workers
  • Management of the Customer Service, Front Desk, and Spa desk experiences
  • Responsible for staffing of Housekeeping and Hospitality teams. Prepare and assign working schedules. Keep time records and approve payroll. Maintain personnel files and evaluate employees on a regular basis for performance, including annual reviews
  • Help retain and attain new members through collaboration with Membership team and other staff
  • Support frontline staff during prime times at the front desk to ensure members are receiving FFC's Platinum Star-level Hospitality
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to establish procedures and schedules for maintaining landscaping and facilities
  • Establish right controls for issuance of keys. Keep record of keys issued. General locksmithing functions
  • Maintain and purchase inventory of supplies. Recommend to the General Manager, necessary capital equipment and major repairs. Be involved in the competitive bidding process for such items
  • Prepare annual department budgets in consultation with the General Manager and Director of Accounting. Control expenditures in line with budget for housekeeping payroll; R&M associated and Supplies plus pool expenses and supplies
  • Establish relationships with landlords and building representatives
  • Establish relationships with fitness vendors and set standards for fitness equipment maintenance
  • Oversee regular equipment audits to ensure all components and equipment are functioning properly; coordinate and oversee repairs as needed
  • Responsible for formation of disaster (safety) plan in case of fire and other emergencies
  • Maintain a file of operating manuals and parts catalogs for all equipment
  • Coordinate contractors and supervise contractor projects
  • Contribute to facility maintenance and club cleanliness; uphold adherence to cleanliness standards for all members of staff

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meet and exceed Individual and Departmental Goals as assigned by General Manager
  • Ensure communication materials including SOPs and training materials are up-to-date
  • Set up and maintain standards of cleanliness for Customer Service staff, Front Desk and office
  • Compile and process all required paperwork and reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, including weekly leadership and semi-annual "all staff" meetings
  • Represent FFC at club and community events such as festivals, open houses, Chamber of Commerce events, etc.
  • Be available on call to respond to emergencies
  • Additional duties as assigned by General Manager

Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Ability to take direction from ownership/management and assist in special projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and members in order to promote high levels of customer service within the staff
  • Ability to organize, administer and delegate work and authority
  • Proficiency in P&L interpretation and oversight
  • 2-5 years of previous management experience
  • Excellent leadership and motivation skills
  • Passion for health and fitness
  • High-level verbal and written communication ability
  • Ability to work during "Closeout" (last 3 days of every month, or other more relevant dates as needed)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Google Docs and email
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
