JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Vice President of Operations the position is responsible for managing the safety & security functions of the Operations Department. The position requires planning, organizing, monitoring, supervising, and problem solving to ensure that the department operates efficiently with coverage 24/7. Additionally, experience demonstrating the ability to manage subordinates is an essential job responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Monitor's airfield and airport to identify discrepancies and issues of non-compliance with FAA regulations including FAR part 139 and all related and applicable Advisory Circulars and Airport Certification Manual i.e., ARF, Hazmat, fuel farm, safety, signage, and markings.
  • Works in conjunction with Operations Department Head to correct discrepancies of deficiencies on airfield
  • Coordinate's wildlife control, Wildlife Hazard Assessments, Wildlife Hazard Management Plan
  • Ensures compliance with all security regulations including 49 CFR part 1542 and other TSARs, Airport
  • Security Program, Security Directives, and all other applicable regulations, including lock and key program
  • Serves as Alternate Airport Security Coordinator
  • Supervises work to be performed and determines work priorities; performs disciplinary actions, reviews and evaluates operations staff annually.
  • Works in conjunction with Operations Department Head to correct discrepancies of deficiencies with safety or security
  • Manages all functions of Badge Office for compliance and efficiency
  • Communicates and coordinate with tenants in reference to safety and security compliance
  • Updates and maintain currencies of Airport Certification Manual, Airport Security Program and Airport Emergency Plan
  • Performs administrative functions for Operations Department. including creating, organizing, and maintaining logs, forms, reports, files, and inspections
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION(S) & EXPERIENCE
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university preferably in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience in Airport Operations with working knowledge of regulations and guidelines at a commercial service airport.
  • AAAE ACE-Operations and AAAE-ACE Security certifications preferred or ability to acquire both certifications in 18 months.
  • Current Airport Security Coordinator certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to proficiently use Microsoft office software.
  • Ability to maintain and develop effective working relationships with citizens, airport officials, other department personnel, employees, and the public.
  • Must exhibit excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must be able to successfully pass Criminal History Background Check, physical exam, Alcohol/Drug screening process.

  • While performing this job, the individual is required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • The individual is required to bend or kneel; crawl to get under training desks as needed.
  • The individual is required to lift up to 20lbs.
  • The work environment is noisy.
  • The position does not require the use of protective clothing and equipment.
