This position will represent the interests of Starr Casualty and Financial Lines profit centers. This role will be responsible for the planning, development, execution, and monitoring of change management plans and activities including communications, training, stakeholder management, change impact assessment, business readiness analysis, and change reinforcement. The Operations Manager will have good business knowledge, analytical skills, and technical expertise to ensure that business systems are meeting the business needs and helping support profit center objectives. This position will be responsible for monitoring the existing underwriting systems used for efficiency and devise strategies to present to IT for improvements. The position will have two Business Analysts as direct reports.
Performance Objectives:
  • Devise and implement a systematic approach to manage transition or transformation of Starr's goals, processes, and technologies.
  • Communicate the need for change and involve people in developing the change.
  • Develop and implement release management strategies across all underwriting platforms.
  • Engage with end-users to develop, evaluate and execute User Acceptance Testing prior to production implementation.
  • Manage change management communications.
  • Monitor and assess post-implementation and address issues as they arise.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Visio for process mapping
  • Experience with commercial insurance policy administration system (5+ years insurance experience a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000-$130,000.
