Job description

Position Overview:

The individual is responsible for project management, purchasing liaison and procurement requirements as specified to meet all customer needs. Individual will support the inventory control management strategy for the Knapheide Truck Equipment Centers to ensure best practices are developed and sustained across all locations. This position will work closely with KTEC Supply Chain Team and KTEC Material Mangers at all Installation Centers and Stores. Position is inclusive of all functions related to suppliers to ensure quality, delivery performance and cost effectiveness of product.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Measure and monitor KPIs, key performance indicators, to measure the effectiveness of the inventory management operations for each of the KTEC locations. KPI's include inventory turns, inventory accuracy and slow-moving inventory.
  • Audit stores for compliance with standard operating procedures - benchmark best practices with KTEC leadership
  • Support inventory management strategies, processes, and procedures for the Installation Centers and Stores; to include the following:
    • Assist stores with training new material managers.
    • Support an accurate and timely cycle counting process consistent with ERP system (currently Spokane/KBS) to validate inventory accuracy (using ABC approach) to support annual Physical Inventory
    • Work directly with Knapheide Corporate Purchasing as needed and to provide support.
    • Define and follow the best practice for managing and reducing offsite inventory and local slow-moving inventory so that cash flow can be improved.
    • Ensure that materials are properly inspected, received and stored in a timely manner as defined in the receiving process.
  • Reinforce the RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) process for all stores and assist as needed
  • Assist and audit KTECs use of ticket system
  • Assist in disposition of excess inventory.
  • Assist and audit in physical inventories including travel to KTEC locations
  • Develop and continue the long-term purchasing strategies with Knapheide's expanding Distribution footprint
  • Lead projects that leverage the KMAN and KTEC consolidated buying strengths
  • Strategic supplier development collaborating with Engineering and Marketing
  • Liaison for Purchasing and Supply Chain to all KMAN and KTEC.
  • Establish supplier partnership that can benefit both parties through leveraged volume and reduced costs
    • Source with suppliers to meet quality expectations, lead times and negotiate cost effective pricing
    • Evaluate potential new suppliers

Position Requirements:

Desired Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree
  • Ability to be self-guided with project and multiple facility relations
  • Desired experience in Inventory Control, Inventory Management, or Warehouse Management.
  • Desired experience with advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Strong collaboration background and skills
  • 1-3 year Knapheide purchasing or Production Planning experience
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Processes
  • Basic Project Management knowledge and experience

Ability to verbally communicate at all levels. Ability to function in a dynamic environment. Site visits may be required at times. Possess exceptional people management and team building skills.
