Job Summary

The Kitting & Pack-Out Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the kitting, hand assembly, and fulfillment departments. This role ensures production schedules are met while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards.

The supervisor coordinates labor assignments, monitors workflow, ensures accurate order fulfillment, and supports continuous improvement within the department. This position plays a key role in maintaining productivity while ensuring all assembled and packaged products meet company and customer quality requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production & Workflow Management

Supervise daily operations of the kitting, hand assembly, and pack-out departments.

Assign labor based on production schedules, job priorities, and staffing levels.

Ensure jobs are completed accurately, on time, and according to specifications.

Monitor production throughput and adjust labor assignments to maintain efficiency.

Coordinate with production scheduling, finishing, and shipping departments to maintain workflow continuity.

Ensure work orders, job tickets, and assembly instructions are followed correctly.

Team Leadership

Provide leadership, training, and direction to kitting and pack-out team members.

Monitor employee performance, attendance, and productivity.

Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.

Promote a positive team culture focused on accountability, safety, and quality.

Address employee concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Quality Control

Ensure all kitting and pack-out work meets company quality standards and customer requirements.

Verify correct materials, quantities, labeling, and packaging for each job.

Identify and resolve quality issues during production.

Ensure QC checklists and job verification steps are completed prior to shipment.

Operational Coordination

Coordinate with warehouse and material handling teams to ensure materials are available for jobs.

Ensure finished jobs are staged and transferred to shipping or the next production step.

Communicate job status updates and production issues to management.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure department follows all company safety policies and procedures.

Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with facility standards.

Monitor proper use of equipment, tools, and materials.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve workflow, labor efficiency, and job accuracy.

Assist management with implementation of operational improvements and process standardization.

Requirements

Qualifications - Education, Experience, License/Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, fulfillment, packaging, or production environments.

1-2 years of leadership or team lead experience preferred.

Experience in kitting, assembly, packaging, fulfillment, or hand labor operations strongly preferred.

Experience working with production schedules, job tickets, or manufacturing workflow systems preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Ability to organize labor and prioritize multiple jobs simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to read and interpret work orders, job instructions, and assembly specifications.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office or production management systems (PIQ).


Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.

Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions associated with assembly and packaging tasks.

Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with varying noise levels.


Compensation:

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $55,000 - $68,000 per year plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
