Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor-Kitting Department
Department: Warehouse
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt
Direct Report: Warehouse Manager
Supervisory Responsibility: Warehouse Kitting Personnel
Location: Mobile, AL
Job Summary:
The Kitting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the kitting process within the warehouse, which involves gathering and packaging specific items into kits. The Kitting Supervisor maintains inventory levels for completing stock kits and supporting products and promptly adds product to the inventory at receipt (new and customer returns). This position works in conjunction with all departments including receiving, shipping and customer service.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Commit to the company culture of quality, safety, and live by the company core values - Empowerment, Development, Execution, Teamwork, Innovation, and Leadership.
  • Develop and ensure a sense of urgency and culture of quality, safety and adherence to company core values.
  • Supervise a team of 2 to 5 kitting personnel to ensure proper attendance, performance and the timely completion of all required duties.
  • Oversee kitting processes and procedures to ensure kit components are accurate and properly documented.
  • Enter warehouse transfer tickets for items needed in kitting inventory.
  • Enter issue tickets for items needed for kits and returns to be added to the inventory.
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory and cycle count process. Ensuring all required inventory receiving is completed daily and accurately as prescribed by company policies.
  • Oversee Special Projects as needed including, but not limited to, assisting other branches, light building maintenance, assembly operations, kitting, etc.
  • Responsible for enforcing safe processes and procedures and ensuring personnel undergo the proper training and are proficient in the proper use of warehouse equipment
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping and cleanliness of the kitting department making sure all safety guidelines and practices are followed.
  • Required to learn the operation of all facets of the physical facility.
  • Maintain complete files for all kits built and those in process.

Experience and Educational Requirements:
  • Some college preferred - business or logistics
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
  • Experience coaching and motivating employees
  • Forklift Experience

Supervisory Responsibility: Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of personnel and processes.
Work Environment: This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment but involves regular collaboration with professional and administrative teams. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, i-Pads, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This role is also expected to function in a warehouse capacity operating machinery, driving company equipment and working with company products.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The role has a verified number of physical demands. While working in this function, the Kitting Supervisor may be required to be in outside weather elements - rain, heat, snow, etc. The Kitting Supervisor may be required to lift heavy products or operate industrial equipment. The Kitting Supervisor should be able to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly, should be able to climb a ladder and should be able to stock any product or equipment that Turner Supply Company sells. This role is actively involved with receiving of inbound products and shipping of outbound products.
