Job Summary:

The Kitting Clerk performs advanced kitting operations, including complex kit assembly, shortage management, auditing, and inventory control. Acts as a subject-matter expert and leads process improvements, provides coaching to Level 1 and 2 clerks, and ensures all kitting operations meet high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with ESD and quality requirements.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Advanced Kitting Physical Tasks

  • Accurately pull and assemble complex kits according to customer, Manufacturing, and Warehouse requirements.
  • Conduct detailed audits on work orders and kits, including high-value or critical components.
  • Lead the backfilling of material shortages and coordinate with Warehouse and Planning teams to prevent delays.
  • Move and stage material efficiently using carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Troubleshoot physical kitting challenges and provide solutions to improve flow.

2. Advanced Kitting Administrative Tasks

  • Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all raw material storage, labeling, and traceability meet company and customer standards.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, inventory, and compliance purposes.
  • Optimize kitting and inventory processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review and update SOPs and work instructions as needed.

3. Team Leadership & Support

  • Mentor and coach Level 1 and 2 Kitting Clerks.
  • Lead cross-training initiatives within the kitting and inventory team.
  • Share best practices and provide guidance on troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Monitor team performance, attendance, and adherence to SOPs.

4. Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • Assist with ISO 9001 audits, internal audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, quality, safety, and company policies.
  • Escalate critical issues to supervisor and collaborate on resolution.

5. Other Duties

  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory reconciliation as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Warehouse Lead.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in kitting, material handling, or inventory management in an EMS or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MIS/MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred), barcode scanning, and inventory management software.
  • Experience operating carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ESD requirements, labeling, and inventory traceability.
