Job description

Position Description: The Dishwasher works with both front of house and back of house staff to ensure all kitchen supplies or tools, dishware, silverware, and glassware are cleaned properly and put away in the correct locations. The right candidate will be responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen and bars have a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses.

Performance Standards and Responsibilities:

  1. Safely using the commercial dishwasher in accordance with company and industry standards.
  2. Regularly clean/sanitize event and restaurant dishes and put them away.
  3. Prioritizing loads of different types of dishes and kitchenware.
  4. Hand washing dishes as needed.
  5. Loading the dishwasher with dishware, silverware, kitchenware, utensils, etc.
  6. Drying any dishes or kitchenware that have already been washed.
  7. Putting all clean dishes and kitchenware away in their correct locations.
  8. Working well as a team member in order to provide excellent service in an upscale work environment.
  9. Mopping, sweeping, taking trash to the dumpsters.
  10. Adhering to food safety and sanitations standards.
  11. Stocking supplies for our service and culinary teams.
  12. Being flexible and willing to perform some minor food preparation tasks along with dishwashing duties.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. ServSafe Certification (preferred), or willing to complete within 30 days of hire.
  2. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  3. The ability to multi-task and work together as a team, as well as independently.
  4. Reliable transportation with the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  5. Must be punctual, reliable, and conscientious.
  6. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Physical requirements:

  1. Speech, visual, and hearing ability sufficient to express and comprehend written and verbal communication.
  2. Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
  3. Ability to stand and/or walk around for long periods of time.
  4. Ability to lift (up to) 50 pounds.
