Green Lantern Pizza of Walled Lake is a carryout and delivery pizzeria currently seeking candidates to be a part of our kitchen crew who are motivated, team-oriented, friendly, dependable, and have the drive to provide excellent service in a high-paced pizzeria. Regardless of experience, we provide you with proper training for quick advancement.

Summary of Position:

Responsible for efficiently & effectively preparing and portioning food items while following food safety, portioning, and recipe guidelines to ensure ingredients are readily available for daily use.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Our kitchen staff prepare a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and other food items for cooking in our pizza oven. Staff are expected to assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served., to know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.

Kitchen staff stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products and supplies at line stations to assure a smooth service period. They must portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion size and recipe specifications. We require that they maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen workstation area including tables, shelves, ovens, cookers, flooring, and refrigeration equipment.

Kitchen staff must be willing, ready, and able to help station cooks at all times. They handle, store and rotate all products properly, assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

All staff must answer phones, takes guest orders, and help guests with exemplary customer service as needed. They will also attend all scheduled team member meetings and brings suggestions for improvement and execute any duty or task assigned by General Manager/Owner or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

No experience necessary, but 1 year of kitchen, food preparation experience is preferred. Candidate must be able to work in a hot, loud kitchen environment for long periods of time, physically able to reach, bend, twist, and stoop. Candidates must also be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours), to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks weighing up to 50 pounds up to 15 times per shift.
