Job description

JOB TITLE:KitchenFLSA:Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT:Kitchen

REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:To serve AC&T customers promptly, courteously friendly and enhance the image of AC&T by preparing delicious food. AC&T is a service company whose goal is to make every shopping experience profitable and pleasurable.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains proper customer relations and service.
  • Maintains contact with the Store/Kitchen Manager.
  • Maintain inventory control.
  • Maintain all monies and the safekeeping of equipment, store records, and other Company property assigned to him/her.
  • Maintain vendor control during his/her shift.
  • Is responsible for any guidelines set up by the Manager that are not contrary to Company policies.
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen within the standards set by the store/kitchen manager.
  • Adheres to State regulations in regards to food service.
  • Is responsible for abiding by all Company rules and regulations designated herein and later as the Company deems necessary.
  • Work the stove, oven and steamer - using pots as large as five gallon s full of various products and weights.
  • Placing and removing ingredients from the hot surfaces when appropriately cooked and separating into smaller pans.
  • Baking and steaming ingredients and removing from units.
  • Prep - making salads, breaking down products for immediate use, and creating products for all cold units and catering orders.
  • Baking Cakes - mixing cake batter and placing it into a full sheet pan and transporting it 20-25 feet to the oven an removing 25 lb. product after baked. Mixing homemade frosting in 3 gallon stand mixer. Lifting 40 lbs. and carrying up two steps to table. Frosting, slicing and boxing cakes.
  • Washing Dishes - Continuous bending at the waste, extending both arms and placing some dishes above head level. Working with hot water and dish detergent.
  • Performs other tasks & duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Be at least eighteen years of age or have a work permit.
  • Be able to speak, read, understand and write the English language.
  • Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 20 pounds and moving it to the fire area.
  • Be able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
  • Be able to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 38 degrees up to 15 minutes at a time.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and extended hours when and if necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS:Will be exposed to heat, cold and noisy conditions.
