Job Summary
Summary: As an experienced Kitchen Expeditor for Levy at Wisconsin Athletics, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations between the kitchen and various service points in our Varsity Clubs. This position is responsible for coordinating the timely delivery of food orders ensuring accuracy and efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and providing excellent customer satisfaction. In addition, this position will be supervising a team of runners, coordinating beverage orders, and overseeing the efficient flow of orders to the Clubs' seats. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills and a passion for hospitality, contributing to an efficient dining experience. Event based scheduling, nights and weekends.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organize flow of food before and during events by managing kitchen pace from order placed to service points, ensuring each order is complete and accurate.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and runners to manage order flow.
  • Address any issues that arise, such as incorrect orders or delays, and find solutions promptly.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation before it leaves the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station and surrounding areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in food preparation techniques and knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Proficiency in reporting systems 
  • At least one year of food service experience in hospitals, banquets, or restaurants with experience in kitchen expediting or food service coordinating
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively between kitchen, servers, and runners.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, food quality, and order accuracy.
  • Knowledge of food handling practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions.
  • Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for long hours.
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification & Alcohol Safety Certification (or willingness to complete).
  • Availability to work all UW-Madison Football games
