Job description

SA Recycling, an industry leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is looking for a customer focused individual to join our team as a Kiosk Operator. The Kiosk Operator acts as the primary point of contact with our suppliers and is responsible for the accurate weighing and sorting of metals. You will also be responsible for completing all required documentation and paperwork for the receipt and payment of all materials received. This a fast-paced role, that requires excellent customer service, communications, and coordination skills.

This position may work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Responsibilities of a Kiosk Operator/Weighmaster:

  • Responsible for accurate and courteous weighing of all nonferrous metals that are brought in by our suppliers. 
  • Document scrap material and supplier information into ticketing system.
  • Provide suppliers with an accurate receipt of scrap materials delivered.
  • Educate, inform, and assist suppliers with required documentation for acceptance of scrap materials.
  • Completes and submit all required reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties in the scale house and customer areas to main a safe and clean environment for all.
  • Operate forklift or other equipment or machinery to move and process materials.
  • Must be able to work with the general public.

Qualifications of a Kiosk Operator/Weighmaster:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred, but not required.
  • 1 year of heavy customer service experience in the scrap metal or similar industry preferred.
  • Ability to learn and identify various types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
