Job Summary/Purpose
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines. The RN coordinates patient care, monitors patient conditions, administers medications and treatments, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
**This position requires a 20-minute call back rotation**
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individualized needs.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes in status to physicians and appropriate personnel.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
• Perform nursing interventions and procedures according to hospital protocols and standards of care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, post-discharge care, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Adherent to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff meetings.
Role Minimum Qualifications
Required Education
• Associate's degree in nursing
Required Licensure and Certifications At Hire
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• BLS
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
Preferred Qualifications
  • ICU other Critical Care experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
