Assistant Director

Kids 'R' Kids Sandy Plains Preschool

The Assistant Director is a key leader who helps ensure the success of our preschool by supporting daily operations, developing teachers, building partnerships with families, and maintaining a culture of excellence. This role helps balance high-quality early childhood education with exceptional care and customer service.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements and health and safety regulations.
  • Passion for early childhood education and child development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Previous Assistant Director, Curriculum Coordinator, or Preschool Leadership experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience coaching teachers and supporting curriculum implementation.
  • Knowledge of Quality Rated standards and best practices in early childhood education.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Director in overseeing daily preschool operations.
  • Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of every child, family, and staff member.

  • Support and monitor the implementation of our daily curriculum across all classrooms.
  • Ensure lesson plans are meaningful, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with school expectations.
  • Coach and mentor teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences that promote kindergarten readiness and a love of learning.
  • Build strong relationships with families through open communication and partnership.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements and company policies.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Support enrollment efforts, family tours, and community engagement activities.
  • Help maintain a positive school culture centered on safety, education, teamwork, and excellence.
