Position Summary

The Lead Teacher is responsible for consistently implementing the Abeka Early Childhood Curriculum and Wonder Kids Academy's classroom standards. This position requires a teacher who understands that two-year-olds learn through repetition, routine, hands-on experiences, music, movement, language development, and positive interaction.
The Lead Teacher will provide leadership within the classroom, supervise and direct classroom support staff, maintain consistent routines, communicate effectively with families, and ensure compliance with Wonder Kids Academy policies and applicable Georgia childcare licensing requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY

  • Prepare daily lessons and classroom materials in advance.
  • Implement age-appropriate instruction in language development, early literacy, numbers, colors, shapes, music, art, motor development, and other foundational concepts.
  • Incorporate Christian songs, poems, stories, activities, and learning exercises into the classroom routine.
  • Use repetition and review to reinforce previously introduced concepts.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate hands-on learning experiences in addition to structured instruction.
  • Maintain an engaging learning environment that encourages participation and curiosity.
  • Encourage toilet training when children demonstrate developmental readiness.
  • Ensure that curriculum materials, books, flashcards, manipulatives, and classroom resources are properly maintained and organized.
  • Monitor each child's participation and developmental progress.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • CDA (Child Development Associate), TCC, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related credential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet applicable Georgia childcare licensing requirements.
  • Must be flexible in scheduled time (Monday - Friday between 7:00 am - 6:00 pm)
  • Must be able to complete required background checks prior to start date.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Previous experience working with toddlers or young children.
