Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Climb towers (up to 500 ft or more) to install, inspect, and maintain wireless equipment.

Install and secure antennas, coaxial cables, fiber lines, connectors, mounts, and grounding systems.

Perform sweep and PIM testing (if trained) and basic troubleshooting of equipment.

Assist with tower structural modifications, antenna alignment, and weatherproofing.

Load/unload materials and rig equipment for tower lifts.

Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely and effectively.

Follow detailed construction drawings, scopes of work, and RF design plans.

Ensure all work is performed safely, with high quality and attention to detail.

Maintain accurate daily field reports, timesheets, and photo documentation.

Assist with on-the-ground civil or electrical tasks when not climbing.

Participate in job site safety briefings and follow all OSHA and company safety standards.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED (required).

1–3 years of experience as a Tower Technician or equivalent climbing experience.

Proven tower climbing experience (required).

Experience with LTE, 5G, small cell, DAS, or microwave systems is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

Ability to climb and work at heights for extended periods.

Knowledge of tower rigging, safety procedures, and fall protection.

Familiarity with installation and testing tools (Anritsu, Site Master, fiber testers, etc.).

Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction documents and RF plans.

Certifications (Required or Preferred):

ComTrain or equivalent tower climbing certification (required).

OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Certification.

RF Awareness Certification.

First Aid/CPR.

Competent Rigger and Rescue Training (preferred).

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL is a plus).

Working Conditions:

Must be able to climb towers 100–500+ feet frequently.

Outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Extended travel and overnight stays often required.

Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs, bend, reach, and work in physically demanding conditions.

May require hearing protection.
