Job description

Amazon Leo seeks a Logistics Manager to support Payload Processing Facility (PPF) logistics operations. This role directly enables Launch Operations to process payloads destined for low earth orbit.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for logistics functions in support Launch Operations. This role oversees activities like delivery coordination, ERP-based inventory management, shift coverage, parcel shipping and receiving activities

This individual ensures on-time inventory availability to Launch Operations and accurate material traceability. The position requires anticipating Launch Operation's needs and collaborates across multiple organizations to sustain launch-critical readiness. This role operates with limited guidance, delivers tactical execution with emerging strategic scope, and mentors peers and leads in process discipline and operational excellence.


While this role is not based on Kennedy Space Center (KSC), it will regularly access the PPF on KSC and travel to French Guiana. Expected travel is 25%.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage daily site logistics including receiving, shipping, dock scheduling, yard coordination, and material movement across facilities.
- Oversee shipment scheduling, site access coordination, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate receiving, inspection, and system entry of all hardware and materials; maintain alignment between physical inventory and system records.
- Manage storage and staging of hardware to optimize space utilization and minimize operational disruption.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and material traceability through disciplined goods movement, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
- Identify and resolve operational risks, bottlenecks, and discrepancies affecting material availability or production flow.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, security, and facilities teams to drive material readiness.
- Develop and execute tactical solutions to address schedule pressures, optimize throughput, and support program milestones.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to standardize logistics workflows and scale best practices across the network.
- Hire, develop, and mentor logistics associates and leads; foster operational excellence and continuous learning.
- Perform root cause analysis on operational issues; develop corrective action plans and track improvements.
- Develop and monitor key logistics metrics; translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Lead collaborative planning and forecasting with internal stakeholders, trade compliance, and suppliers.
- Support additional duties as needed.
- This role will primarily work 2nd shift
